Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Nagpur

Assistance on arrival at Nagpur airport and transfer to hotel. Visit Dhamma Chakra Stupa (Deeksha Bhoomi) – a major Buddhist pilgrimage site and architectural marvel. Visit Sitabuldi Fort – site of the historic 1817 battle and Gandhi’s prison cell. Visit Central Museum (closed on Mondays) – housing archaeological artifacts, tribal art, fossils, and manuscripts. Overnight at hotel in Nagpur.

Day 2: Nagpur – Melghat Tiger Reserve (260kms / 6hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Melghat enroute visit Ambadevi Temple in Amravati – a revered shrine with deep regional significance. Continue to Melghat Tiger Reserve and check in at forest lodge/resort. Afternoon at leisure or enjoy a nature trek along Sipna River – ideal for birdwatching and local flora exploration. Optional guided trek: Semadoh to Bandarkahu or Makhla trail. Lunch, dinner & overnight at lodge in Melghat.

Day 3: Melghat – Burhanpur (121kms / 3hrs)

Early morning jeep safari in Melghat Tiger Reserve – known for tigers, leopards, gaurs, sloth bears, and forest owlets. Breakfast at lodge. Drive to Burhanpur, a historic town known for its Mughal-era monuments. Check in at hotel. Visit Badshahi Qila – former Mughal palace complex with beautiful bath chambers. Visit Dargah-e-Hakimi – a sacred Dawoodi Bohra shrine attracting pilgrims from around the world. Visit Jama Masjid – built during Faruqi rule, known for its intricate Indo-Islamic architecture. Overnight at hotel in Burhanpur.

Day 4: Burhanpur – Aurangabad via Ajanta Caves (250kms / 6-7hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Asirgarh Fort – strategically located hill fort offering panoramic views and containing temple, mosque, and gurdwara. Drive towards Aurangabad with enroute stop at Ajanta Caves (closed on Mondays). Visit Ajanta Caves – 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves adorned with detailed frescoes and sculptures. Arrive in Aurangabad and check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Aurangabad.

Day 5: Aurangabad – Excursion to Ellora & Daulatabad Fort (36kms one way)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Ellora Caves (closed on Tuesdays) – a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 34 cave temples representing Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Visit Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple – the last of the 12 Jyotirlingas mentioned in the Shiva Purana. Visit Daulatabad Fort – a massive hill fort known for its defense systems and hilltop views. Visit Bibi Ka Maqbara – known as the "Mini Taj", built by Aurangzeb’s son in memory of his mother. Visit Panchakki – an ingenious watermill used to grind grain for pilgrims. Visit Aurangabad Caves – 6th–7th century rock-cut caves with Hindu-Buddhist iconography. Overnight at hotel in Aurangabad.

Day 6: Aurangabad – Departure

Breakfast at hotel. Free time until checkout. Transfer to Aurangabad airport as per your flight schedule for onward journey. (Standard check-out time: 11:00 AM)
