Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Bhubaneswar

Assistance on arrival at Bhubaneswar airport and transfer to hotel. Visit Parasurameshwar Temple – a classic example of early Odishan architecture. Visit Mukteshwar Temple – known for its exquisite stone archway. Visit Rajarani Temple – famous for its erotic carvings and sculptural elegance. Visit Lingaraj Temple (Non-Hindus can view from outside) – the largest temple in Bhubaneswar. Visit Khandagiri & Udaygiri Caves – rock-cut Jain caves from the 1st century BCE. Visit Dhauli Rock Edicts – Ashokan edicts marking the site of the Kalinga War. Overnight at hotel in Bhubaneswar.

Day 2: Bhubaneswar – Baliguda (260kms / 6-7hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Baliguda through lush green landscapes and scenic tribal villages. Enroute experience the pastoral countryside and small Oriya tribal settlements. Arrive in Baliguda and check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Baliguda – Rayagada (180kms / 5hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Barkhama village, home to the tattooed Kutia Khond tribe. Observe unique cultural practices and traditional attire of the Khonds. Drive through forested roads to Rayagada. Arrive and check in at hotel. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Rayagada – Jeypore (220kms / 6hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Chatikona tribal haat (must be Wednesday) – bustling with Dongria Kondh tribe in vibrant costumes. Explore the animistic beliefs and ecological lifestyle of Dongria communities. Visit Koraput Tribal Museum showcasing traditional attire, tools, crafts, and replicas of Jagannath Temple. Continue drive to Jeypore and check in at hotel. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Jeypore – Excursion to Onukudelli & Lamtaput

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Onukudelli tribal market (must be Thursday) of the Bonda tribe – known for their elaborate bead jewellery and traditional body adornment. Visit Lamtaput village inhabited by the Gadaba tribe – famous for their unique sarees and musical traditions. Drive back to Jeypore. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Jeypore – Excursion to Kunduli & Nandapur

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Kunduli Friday market – the largest tribal market in the region, featuring Paroja and Mali tribes. Drive to Nandapur – ancient capital of Jeypore Kingdom, famous for its 32-step throne. Explore the tribal culture and remnants of historical architecture. Return to Jeypore. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Jeypore – Jagdalpur via Kanger Valley (130kms / 4-5hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Jagdalpur enroute visiting Kanger Valley National Park – a rich forest biosphere with limestone caves and waterfalls. Enjoy a jeep safari through the forested zones and visit the beautiful Tirathgarh Waterfalls. Arrive Jagdalpur and check in at hotel. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Jagdalpur – Kanker (200kms / 5-6hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Anthropological Museum in Jagdalpur displaying tribal art, customs, tools, and clothing. Visit the tribal market at Lohandiguda (depending on schedule). Stop at Chitrakote Waterfalls – the widest in India, often referred to as the 'Niagara of India'. Continue drive to Kanker and check in at hotel. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Kanker – Tadoba National Park (300kms / 6-7hrs)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Gadiya Mountain – an ancient hill fort and cave used historically by the Kandra dynasty. Drive to Tadoba National Park, Maharashtra’s oldest and finest tiger reserve. Arrive and check in at jungle lodge. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Tadoba National Park

Early morning gypsy safari in Tadoba Tiger Reserve – renowned for its high density of tigers. Return to lodge for breakfast. Free time to relax or nature walk around the lodge. Afternoon gypsy safari through a different zone of the park. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Tadoba – Nagpur Airport (145kms / 3hrs)

Early morning gypsy safari for a final chance to spot big cats and other wildlife. Return to lodge for breakfast. Check out and drive to Nagpur airport to board your onward flight.
